Setting up delivery radius and fees correctly

The radius isn't a guess — it's measured from a verified postcode, which is also the detail most worth getting right before delivery goes live.

A close-up detailed street map

Delivery can't be switched on until the restaurant's own postcode is verified — that's a deliberate order of operations, because the radius is measured from an actual point, not a rough address string. Get that step right first and the rest of the setup is quick.

Verify the postcode first

Postcode verification in Settings → Restaurant details resolves your address to an exact point. Delivery can't be enabled until that resolves successfully — a deliberate gate, since a fuzzy or unverified address would make every radius check downstream unreliable.

Choosing the radius

  • Too generous and the outer edge gets cold food and late arrivals — the exact experience that costs repeat business.
  • Too tight and streets well within a comfortable delivery time get turned away for no operational reason.

The honest way to set it: drive or ride your actual delivery routes at a busy-service pace, not a quiet-afternoon one, and set the radius to match that reality rather than a straight-line distance on a map.

The fee itself

The delivery fee is a flat charge that goes entirely to covering the actual cost of delivery — Nomvo takes no cut of it, and no commission on the order it's attached to either. How that compares to running delivery through a courier marketplace instead is covered in how the driver app removes third-party courier fees.

Revisit it, don't set and forget

A radius that worked with one driver doesn't necessarily work with two, or with a new one-way system that adds ten minutes to half your routes. Worth checking against actual delivery times every few months rather than assuming day-one settings still hold.

No setup fee, no contract, cancel any time. Nomvo is £69 a month, or £54 a month equivalent billed annually — no commission on any order.
