Questions, answered before you ask them.
Pricing, setup, the kitchen, deliveries and your data. If something here is unclear, say so and we will rewrite it.
Pricing and fees
05What exactly do I pay?
£69 a month, or £54 a month equivalent billed annually as a single upfront payment of £648. That is the whole platform fee, covering every feature — ordering site, EPOS, kitchen display, table service, driver app and reporting. There is no commission on orders and no charge per feature.
Do I need a card to try it?
No. The 30-day trial needs no card. Billing only starts once you add a card and choose a plan from your own billing screen.
What is the card processing fee?
Payments are handled by Stripe, through your own Stripe Connect account, and their published rate applies to each transaction. It is charged by Stripe, not by us, and appears as its own line on your statement.
We never fold it into our subscription fee. Two numbers, kept apart, so you always know who charged you what.
Is there a setup fee or a contract?
No setup fee, no contract and no notice period. Cancel any time from your own billing screen.
When do I get paid?
Card payments go directly to your own bank account. Nomvo's subscription is billed separately from your sales, so there is nothing to reconcile or chase at month end.
Setting up
04How long does it take to go live?
Sign-up is self-serve and your instance builds in a couple of minutes. How quickly you can take a real order depends on how fast you build your menu — a short menu can be live the same afternoon.
A checklist from your first login tells you exactly what is left: menu, opening times and capacity, prep times, bank details.
Do I need a developer or a designer?
No. The menu builder is drag and drop, and the site takes your colours and logo. There is nothing to host and nothing to deploy.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes. You start on a yourrestaurant.nomvo.co.uk subdomain from day one and can connect your own domain whenever you are ready.
Can I move my existing menu across?
Yes. Most menus are quicker to rebuild than to import, because variants and modifiers rarely survive a straight copy — but if yours is long, send it over and we will help.
Ordering
04Do customers need an account or an app?
No. They order, pay and follow the live status page in a browser. Eat-in customers scan the code on the table and do the same thing.
Can the menu handle complicated items?
Yes — that is the point of it.
- Variant pricing by size, protein or portion
- Modifier groups with minimums, maximums and surcharges
- Meal deals that enforce their own pricing rules
- Allergens to the ingredient, so the answer changes when a customer swaps chicken for halloumi
Can I run discounts?
Percentage, fixed amount or free item, with minimum spend, usage limits and scheduled start and end dates. Codes will not stack together by accident.
What about tips and service charge?
Both are supported where you want them, itemised clearly at checkout. Nomvo never takes a cut of a customer's tip.
Kitchen and deliveries
04Do I need a kitchen display screen?
No. Guided printer setup is built in and plenty of kitchens run on paper alone. You can add screens later without changing anything else.
How does the kitchen display work?
Tickets route to the station that cooks them — grill, fry, bar, whatever your kitchen actually looks like — and a master pass view shows when a whole order is genuinely ready rather than when one item is.
Items can be marked sold out mid-service without leaving the kitchen.
Who handles the deliveries?
Your own drivers, using the driver app in their phone's browser. There is no courier network and no third-party delivery fee. You set the radius and the delivery charge.
Can I limit what staff can see?
Yes. Six roles — Owner, Manager, Staff, Kitchen, Driver and Printer — each seeing only what the job needs. Drivers see deliveries and nothing else, and only the Owner ever touches billing.
Data and leaving
03Who owns the customer data?
You do. Order history, customer records and consent all belong to your restaurant, and none of it is used to market a competing listing at your customers.
What happens to my data if I leave?
You get a full export of your order history and customer database before anything is deleted.
Is VAT handled properly?
VAT is applied at item level rather than as a flat rate across the basket, so your monthly statement reconciles without a manual pass.
